Game Update Information & Spring Cleaning Event Winners

On May 17th, Nexon will begin their monthly update to the game. This update is scheduled to take approximately six hours and last from 7:00am Pacific Standard Time (PST) until 3:00pm PST (10:00am Eastern Standard Time (EST) to 6:00pm EST). Look forward to returning to the game around the patch end times in your respective area.

Nexon has also released the list of winners that have received prizes from the Spring Cleaning Event that took place on March 26th where players could take on Nexon employees. If you were able to get into a game with the Nexon staff, check the listing to see if your name was posted.

MvP System & Update Previews

Nexon has been working on a revamp of the MvP and scoring system that will be released in a short time. Interested in seeing who is better on your friends list? Well come release time you can with this updated system. Containing at least 14 different areas, this system will span the game modes and weapon proficiencies. In addition to this, the video on this page, as well as loading the Nexon Combat Arms page, is the second video to be released by Nexon to include previews of things to come in the game. Becides the updated MvP system, these are:

1) The first preview is with the updated specialists. In the first video, Nexon released a partial view of a man holding a pistol shaded by darkness. All that could be viewed was a tattoo of a scorpion. This second video showed a female bearing the mark of a spider, most likely a black widow, on her right shoulder. This one even contained audio of her saying, “This is gonna be hot.” This is unconfirmed, but will most likely be a unique line to this individual.

2) The return of scorpions versus spiders? At current there is no information leading to this, but the two updated specialists that Nexon has revealed have included scorpion and spider tattoos that were revealed to the viewers. Could we see the return of scorpions versus spiders event? Only time will tell.

3) The third preview is that of DUEL WIELDING. The video released by Nexon shows in game duel wielding of scorpion machine pistols at 21, 30, and 36 seconds. It is unconfirmed if there will be other weapon platforms that will have this ability, or if there is a special condition that must be met such as an upgrade. We shall see with the upcoming update.

This sale is meant to be a last hurrah for the current line of specialist mercenaries as they go into a “retraining” period where Nexon will introduce new, updated specialists in time for the next monthly patch update session.

CA Community Meets New Community Manager

The Combat Arms (CA) community was introduced to its new Community Manager (CM) today. In response to a thread entitled “When are we getting a new CM?,” Khali (real name Nikki) surprised the community by responding, “You all might be getting one sooner than you think.” Shortly thereafter, Khali created a thread introducing herself as CA’s new CM. Her introduction may be viewed here.

CA players in North America have been without a full-time CM since Kalika’s departure in March. Hime, the CM for Nexon’s MapleStory, has been filling this role during the interim. The CM position is widely recognized as one of the most challenging jobs in the gaming industry, but it can also be among the most rewarding. Combat Arms Stratics wishes Khali the very best as she tackles her new responsibilities.

CBL Safe Room, 10 May

The Community Ban List (CBL) will be hosting a “safe room” event on Thursday, 10 May, beginning at 3:00 PM PST (6:00 PM EST). All participants must be CBL clean and verified. If participants are in a clan, the clan must also be CBL clean. CBL safe room events provide players an opportunity to enjoy well-moderated rooms hosted by trained CBL volunteers.

According to the announcement, Thursday’s matches will include an elimination match in Rural Estate, a search and destroy match in Piazza, and other unspecified instances. For additional information on the event location, please see the official announcement on CBL’s forums here.

Limited Nexon Offer—Spring Nx Bonus Sale!

Combat Arms EU Server Update Progress

As many European players already have found out, Combat Arms Europe is in the process of undergoing a game-wide server relocation. Begun Wednesday April 25, 2012, Nexon is planning on completing their maintenance by midnight Thursday April 26. While the time zones will surely affect everything, European players can expect to return to game by the Greenwich Mean Time +2 (GMT +2)

For reference to those that do not know the timezones, if it is noon in the central time zone of the United States, then it will be 7:00pm in GMT+2. Midnight in GMT+2 will be 5:00pm Central Standard Time (CST).

Content Update! 8 hour Maintenance Period

The monthly content update is upon us. As of April 25, 2012 at 7:00am Pacific time or 10:00am Eastern time, Combat Arms will undergo a patching session for 8 hours. Gamers should be able to return to the servers by 3:00pm Pacific time or 6:00pm Eastern time.

While specifics for this patch haven’t been released, expect to see the addition of Operation Slaughterhouse for new clan matches. The new clan system Nexon is rolling out will most likely be held until the next patch to fine-tune the ladder system. Never the less, expect new challenges and new secrets in the world of Combat Arms.
